Hello. Bonjour. Hola. Hi. I come from the land of sarcasm, and whatever comes to my mind. Though I don’t tend to have much of a filter, I think that is what makes me unique in mind and spirit. I grew up being a free spirit. I played with animals, and learned to care for them in the most kind of ways.
My favorite adventures as a kid were trailing behind my sister to horse shows, watching horses get all dolled up. To this day horses have left an impact on my soul that I will never forget or regret. Horses are very empathetic creatures. They feel what you feel, and are the most comforting when you need.
I didn’t get much into writing until I was in high school. You never would have caught me with a book until I was about 17 or 18. I was a track athlete, and far too consumed in my athletics to really think about books.
Until I finally came across a class called creative writing. Our final for the class prompted us to write a short story that was the beginning of something huge for me. No I didn’t become a novelist out of it, but I was able to write something that actually meant something to me. To put my heart into paper even though everything was long forgotten afterwords. I still have a copy of that book sitting at home amongst old projects I have done.
Since then, I have written in large and small periods. But what is writing to me? It’s a breath of fresh air. Where I can say what I want and not feel subjected to judgement. Yes, of course people subject others to judgement, but I have learned to be a duck. Be a duck, let the water roll off your back, let peoples opinions, and words roll off your back. Because I am my own human being. Words let me be me. In times of duress, I have found so much solace in writing. I hope that is how everyone feels when they do. Whether it’s a simple, thank you, or I love you. Words written on paper speak volumes.
